Imagine working on projects that help people bring their photos & videos to life… or building an app that lets users try on any outfit without ever leaving home… even helping users around the world hold online meetings that feel in person!
Here at PicCollage Company (PicCo), we believe in using technology and design to help people around the world create, connect, and celebrate. In addition to our popular PicCollage app that has been downloaded over 250,000,000 times, we are building multiple new products that use friendly UI/UX and serious machine learning to make magic for users.
We Explore!
Our culture emphasises exploration and innovation through internal hackathons, mockups and prototypes, experimental tryouts, weekly user feedback and rapid iteration.
Since 2020, we have set up a dedicated in-house incubator called “Explore” to work on new creative products, separate from the main PicCollage app. Our Explore team currently consists of around 20 people, working on areas such as AI-assisted video editing, video conferencing tools, web-based design tools and Generative AI. We help people magically transform their photos and videos into shareable memories, as well as give people new ways to celebrate and collaborate.
For example, VidCollage is our latest video editing app, which uses AI to automatically find the best highlights from your videos to generate a fun music video for your family and friends. Imagine taking a 3-minute video of your dog playing in the park and magically turning it into polished highlight reel that you can share with others in seconds!
We initially built MixerChat as an internal video collaboration tool to help our team members discuss ideas more naturally. In comparison with Zoom or Meet, the key insight of MixerChat is to allow people to freely hop between breakout rooms, making it possible to have more meaningful discussions that bring the feeling of in-person collaboration to remote work. We’re now making this available as a product to help other groups work better. Don’t have meetings, have a mixer instead!
In addition, we have built many other products, and are working on some interesting new ones, especially in the exciting new area of Generative AI.
We are International
From the beginning, we have always targeted a global market. About half of our users are from the US, and we have many users in Japan, Europe, Latin America and elsewhere.
Although the majority of our team is based in Taiwan, we have a global mindset, and our main language for company meetings is English. We have many members who have international backgrounds or who speak multiple languages, which helps us to connect with and better understand our users around the world.
Coming from many different backgrounds, we form a team of dreamers and builders that have joined together to imagine the future and build cool new products.
We are Growing
We are a profitable startup and we are now looking to expand our Explore team as we see very interesting opportunities for us to grow. In particular, we believe that recent advances in machine learning will enable a whole new generation of creativity apps and productivity tools. We believe that now is a special time to build and grow new products that will have a really big impact, and our team has some of the elements to make it happen.
We are looking for inventive Machine Learning engineers, designers, marketers and product people to join us on this journey. In particular, we recognize that as our team grows, we need to find more product leaders to help our Explore team discover and validate opportunities, and build and grow our products. We have opened up two key positions (Director of Product and Product Lead) to look for the special people who can take on this challenge.
